Description:
Bearded Dragons are one of the best "starter lizards" you can have and are among the easiest to care for. They take up to 1.5 years to reach their full size which is 2 feet (tail included). At full size, it's a good idea to have them in a 40g-Long tank, at least, which can be obtained at the pet store with a screen top for less than $100 with a 100w light bulb set above one end of their cage as a heat source. They eat crickets, mealworms, greens (mustard, kale, etc.), carrots, peaches, bananas and much more.
Their temperament is amazing. They really warm up to their owners fast. Our daddy (now 2.5yo) was bought as a baby and has NEVER bitten anybody. He'll open his mouth on occasion if he's not in the mood to be handled, but that's it (and he doesn't bite if we ignore him and handle him anyway). He's also traveled the house and the neighborhood hooked onto the front of my now-11yo son's shirt. He's truly a sweetheart. Our mommy was purchased when she was 3yo and is the picture of patience. The only one she's ever even opened her mouth to is the daddy (we've had her for 1.5y). She hasn't "traveled" as much as the daddy, but she gets her time out of the cage.
2 babies were born just before Labor Day and are ready to scoot (they're nicely rounded, acclimated to people and eat greens, fruit and crickets). The other 23 are almost ready to go, but I'm willing to hold them for anyone who wants them a little bigger before taking them home. We try to handle them daily go get them acclimated to people. They’re on the same diet as the 2 older ones. All get fed 2x a day.
Included with the purchase is a care and feeding packet and a list of exotic vets in our area (these took me forever to locate when we had an emergency).
