QUESTIONS ANSWERED! Higher end rooms with stronger capabilities are out there at a much higher price. Whisper rooms, for example, start at about $2700 and go up from there. Our rooms are designed for the home recording artist who just wants to filter out background noises on the recordings. They are not meant for a professional recording atmosphere. These booths are constructed of of 1.5" Styrofoam walls framed with solid wood framing and covered in a polyfiber sound dampening material. A great unit for someone who just wants to filter out unwanted noises or keep from disturbing the neighbors. We don't want to misrepresent to you our product or its capabilities. You see... to us... sound proof means "without sound leakage". So many things are attributed to determine if sound travels past or through something. There is frequency, volume, tone, acceleration, modulation, and resonance. All which can affect the ability of a material to stop or slow down sound waves. Believe it or not, air density, humidity, and even air current effect these things. Any company that claims to exact filtration or elimniation specs are doing so under testing in a controlled environment. Well... I doubt they've had a baby crying or a telephone ringing in the background or a ticked off musician in the booth swearing like a sailor. So, you see... The more money you spend the more sound "Filtering" the booth is going to be. Drawing shows construction of walls and ceiling.
