Description:
PURPOSE: Transcribes all types of dictated reports.
1. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
RESPONSIBILITY: Transcribes all types of dictated reports, including but not limited to history and physicals, consultations, operative reports, discharge summaries, emergency room reports, Radiology, Cardiology, and progress notes.
CONFIDENTIALITY: Maintains complete privacy and confidentiality in all forms of communication in the remote environment. Understands HIPAA privacy laws and medicolegal standards regarding legal medical documentation.
TEAMWORK: Demonstrates good teamwork by sharing responsibilities and keeping others informed of progress and concerns.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates professionally with Manager, Lead MT, and QA staff as necessary for productive completion of transcribed work and with IT staff and other management as necessary regarding technical issues and questions.
3. QUALITY: Transcribes reports with 98% accuracy standard. Reviews feedback and initiates improvement.
4. PRODUCTIVITY: After completion of training, transcribes a minimum of 150 lines per hour worked.
5. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH: Seeks to improve knowledge and job skill, utilizing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
6. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES: Adheres to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual.
7. TECHNICAL: Ensures personal proficiency in systems and processes, including basic troubleshooting, trouble ticket, and problem resolution.
EDUCATION
HS graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a medical secretarial/assistant program or a medical transcription diploma with a transcription internship.
ESSENTIAL JOB-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
One (1) year of hospital-based medical transcription or three to five (3-5) years of multi-diversified private practice transcription of medical reports.
One (1) year utilizing knowledge of word processing equipment.
