Description:
A HEALTH cARE uNIT seeking a full time (F/T) Medical Transcriptionist.
This is a full time position .
Position Function:
The Health Information transcriptionist has accountability for all
dictation being transcribed within 24-hour period. Responsible for
transcribed reports being placed on the patient's records daily.
Responsible for taking the transcription off of the modem and updating
the physicians' cross reference sheets. Maintaining clinical notes in
a timely manner. When transcription is up to date, assisting with
other health information duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Medical Terminology
Pharmacology
Good English usage
Duties & Responsibilities:
1Transcribes dictation including, but not limited to history and
physical examination, admission notes, consultations, operative
reports, discharge summaries, HSI letters, social service summaries
and clinical notes.
2Maintains a daily line count log for work performance and monthly
statistics.
3Displays a working knowledge of medical terminology and uses references for correct spelling and usage of laboratory, radiology,
pharmacy, orthopedic, and obstetrical terminology.
